I’ll start by saying I’m one of the pickiest headphone users on the planet and have spent far too much money over the past 25 years or so. Have used over ear, on-ear, in-ear buds with Comply foam tips, and any other kind that was invented. Purchased headphones from many brands including Sony, Sennheiser, Audio Technica, Klipsch, Denon, Apple Airpods, Beats, AKG, KEF and more. Up until now my favorite was the KEF on ear and their Porsche designed Space One noise cancelling version which sounded amazing but were far too uncomfortable.The Master & Dynamic MW65’s are absolutely perfect. Fantastic design (I got the light gray and silver version) and are extremely comfortable. The leather is quality, the stitching on the headband is flawless, and the lambskin ear pads are extremely soft and comfortable. The pressure on your head is just right — not too tight to be uncomfortable, but snug enough to block out sounds on their own, before the noise cancellation goes to work. When I took them out of the box I thought they must be too small to go around the ears but they do and are just right. They are very light which is great for longer listening sessions. I suspect some people look at the small size and lightness and think they don’t “feel” like $500 but they truly are. I spent more on Sennheisers (HD 650) way back in the day that didn’t sound nearly as good as these. Sound and comfort is the most important thing here.Sound — at first I thought they were just “pretty good” but not quite as good as the KEF . But after getting to know them I realized the sound is very clean and natural and not “artificial” with boosted low and high frequencies. Very accurate sound. I created an EQ on Spotify on my iPhone and found what works for me. I really love how they sound and they I think are the best sounding of all that I’ve purchased before.Also worth mentioning — the layout of the buttons is really well thought out. Can easily feel their location and are super easy to use. I actually appreciate that a lot as I’ve had others that I pretty much had to take off my head to look at the buttons and they are usability mess.In summary — they look great, are extremely comfortable, and sound fantastic. Can’t ask for more. I’ve finally found the perfect and will be customer for life. They are definitely worth the price.
